I lived with Art for two years back when I was in Cal State Hayward. I remember sharing a living room with him when we use to live in a 1 bedroom apartment on Tennyson with our boy Ian. Goodtimes. When Ian told me the news I dropped to my knees and started crying. He never knew, but I looked up to him. I still find myself acting like him sometimes. My favorite drink is now Hennessy. When I moved to the Bay from Los Angeles I was homesick, but Art showed me what the Bay was all about. He took me under his wing like a big brother. Because of him, I found a home in the Bay. He visited me two years ago in my downtown LA loft. The last words he told me was that he was proud of me and that I was family to him. Art, I never told you but you and Ian were like big brothers to me. I would have never graduated without you guys. Lord, I thank you for giving us Art. He had one of the biggest hearts. Its know wonder that you wanted him by your side. I will forever miss you ma man.

I met Art back in 2004, when I began seeing his roommate. We had so many nights in and out, partyin in the City and kickin it, talking story. What always struck me about Art was his intelligence and sense of humor; he may have had a grill and fur coats, but he had a sharp mind, a bonafide Wall Street brain always working overtime. He was intelligent, and resilient, and above all, he cared deeply for those in his life. I am so saddened to hear of his passing; he is gone from us far too soon. I try to take comfort in the purposefulness of his life: he lived well and he lived as he wanted to. My deepest sympathies to Christy, whom Art loved so so much.

I wanted to add to my entry from before. When I wrote that last one I was at a loss for words due to the shock. First of all my heart goes out to his whole family and all of his closest friends. May God be with him and his family.I wanted to add some more wonderful words about Art. From the moment I met Art about ten years ago I knew he was different from all of the rest…from the rest of the other guys that is. I just loved Art from day one. He was always so, patient, easy going, so laid back, non-judgemental, went with the flow, respectful of women and everyone else, generous, giving, made time, always kept in touch with me, always included me in his life and never forgot about me even though our old group went their own seperate ways years ago. He was always happy, laughing, smiling, and SO fun when I would talk to him or when I was around him. He never disagreed with any of my opinions that I had about other people or life situations. He would just listen and try to understand and even offer sound advice only if I asked for it. He was such a great listener. The very last time I was with him he came out to see me and we went out for dinner and fun at the Americano in San Francisco just a couple of weeks ago. We talked about life…my life…and his family and he was excited to go to Arizona for his dad's birthday party etc. We then went dancing after that to the Infusion Lounge. He was always a great dancer and was dancing that night poppen his collar to the jazz infused music! We had the best table in the house right up front with bottle service and he was having SO much fun dancing away with me. What a Handsome man he was. We had so much fun that last night and we were planning many more fun evenings out in San Francisco in the weeks to follow. :'( We always kept in touch throughout the years with each other even though you wouldn't think we would have alot in common…we Always had a connection from day one! Art was a very good friend of mine for about ten years. I always had a chemistry with him because he was a good person and had a big heart. He was so easy going, fun to be around, and would always watch out for me. I always could trust Art always.I just was with him at the Americano in SF having so much fun and cannot believe he is gone. This is very unfortunate and is a shock to me. May God rest his soul. XO, Darlene

Art and I shared an office working together a couple of years ago in Pleasanton. He was a rock star when he wanted to be. He was smart and had an amazing ability to connect with customers. But mostly what I remember was how much we laughed…he had a fabulous sense of humor and he made going to work so much more tolerable than it would have been otherwise. For that I am truly grateful. May God bless those close to him, those who are left missing him and those who lives are forever changed for having known him,Nancy ~ San Ramon

The last time I saw Artie was at a RaidersPatriots game in Oakland. A friend in Sacramento had season tickets and knew I was a big Patriots fan, so I put on my Bledsoe jersey, danced in the black hole, got cursed throughout the entire game; as Raider fans probably do in New England. At halftime, another friend came and picked us up at our seats and took us into the luxury suites and while walking amongst 60,000 people, Artie and I walked straight into one another and we each pointed at the other and said, "I know you". He was the center of attention at the party inside the suite, but stopped to make time for me and help get an autograph from some guy named "Too Short" for my friend's son. This was almost 10 years ago, but my friend and his son and I still talk about that day. We did just 2 weeks ago at the son's birthday party. Miki, Gary, Jr., Angie and I offer our condolences during this trying time and will remember Artie in our thoughts and prayers.

It is with a heavy heart and tearful eyes that I write these words to Art's family. As many have already expressed on Facebook, your son, your brother, your cousin was so many things to all of us- most of all he was GOOD and I thank you. For if not because of you we would not be mourning the loss of such a great man.I met Art on his 24th birthday in a club in the City which is no longer there called Sno Drift. How could I not make friends with him, he was so lively and contageous?! I always had a great time when we were out; as crazy as things used to get. He opened my eyes to many things and taught me equally as much even though I was 5 years older. He definitely lived his life ON PURPOSE. Rest in Peace, Sweet HeART.
