Arthur Frasco's Obituary
Arthur Frasco, a 48-year resident of Berkeley, passed away peacefully at his Berkeley home on November 30, 2006, after a three-month struggle with cancer.Born in Windber, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1921, Arthur was the youngest of the seven siblings of Vitaliano and Maria Frasca. He was raised in Peoria, Illinois, where he lived until his enlistment in the Army Air Force in August, 1942. Sergeant Frasco was honorably discharged in September, 1945 after active service in the campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. After the War, Arthur moved to California and graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1949. Prior to retiring at the age of 58, he worked his professional life as a safety manager for the San Francisco and Oakland offices of the State Compensation Insurance Fund and Caterpillar Tractor's manufacturing plant in San Leandro. Included among the many pursuits in his life was a love of history, music, cooking and carpentry. Arthur is survived by the family he loved and was so proud of; his wife of 55 years, Carolyne Brymner Frasco; his two sons, Alexander and Christofer; his daughters in-law, Ann Marie and Colleen and five grandchildren, Maximilian, Alexandra, Adrian, Kathleen and Christina. Arthur's extended surviving family also includes numerous nieces and nephews whose lives he has touched.
