Archie Nolan Dupre's Obituary
Archie Nolan Dupre transitioned from this life at home in Oakland, CA on June 8th, 2019 at about the same time his brother Samuel Nolan Dupre passed away in New Orleans, LA.
Archie was born in New Orleans to Samuel N. Sr. and Ada Williams Dupre (both of whom preceded in death). He was brother to Samuel Jr. (Sam; predeceased by 15 days), and is survived by his beloved Aunt Eola Bates; siblings; Brenda Dupre Williams and Luther Hall Dupre. Uncle to nephews and niece, Patrick Dupre Spears, Sean Nolan (Kim), Samuel Bryan (Birtukan) and Michelle (Shelly) Dupre .
Archie was a graduate of McDonogh 35 High School, Class of 1961, and Xavier University, Class of 1963; attaining his pharmaceutical license in 1966.
A U.S. Army veteran stationed at Fort Polk, LA, he served honorably, traveling the world until relocating in California, post Hurricane Betsy. His heart, however, was always in, and with, his hometown of New Orleans, which he regularly visited.
Archie loved family and life, living it to the fullest. Archie sponsored his own California Mardi Gras Ball, Les Bon Temps Rouler (Let the good times roll) He was an earnest hard worker who disliked owing anyone anything, but thoroughly enjoyed fishing for leisure.
Archie will be grievously missed, but gratefully, and graciously remembered.
