Archie Duncan's Obituary
Archie was born December 22, 1942, to the late Sadie and Ivory Duncan in Tulsa, OK, one of eight children. The family moved to San Diego, California, during his formative years. Archie married Shirley Ollison and from this union they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Safi and Amani. Archie later met and married Evelyn; this union created a loving blended family when Archie received Felicia, Dwayne and Angela as his own children. Archie served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged. Archie then went on to earn a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. Being passionate about his love of engineering, Archie formed his own company, Duncan Electric. His career included working as an Electrical Engineer for Hansen & Slaughter, Parsons Electrical Company, and the University of California's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories where he retired as a Research Engineer in 2008. Archie loved music from the time he first heard music as a child and learned to play every instrument he could get his hands on. However, the flute was his most prized instrument, known professionally as 'Theodore Morgan,' he became a master flautist and gospel singer. Archie accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He loved the Lord and never ceased to witness and to tell all whom he met about God's goodness and faithfulness. Archie was active in the work of the Lord; serving as an Altar Worker, counselor, musician, and an avid witness for the Lord. Through Archie's ministry many people came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Archie leaves to cherish his DASH: Wife, Evelyn Marie; four daughters: Safi, Amani (John II), Felicia (Elmer), and Angela; and one son, Dwayne Scott; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; three sisters: Bernice, Lora, Ada, and one brother, Herman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
