Resident of Pittsburg, CA for 38 yrs
Feb 5, 1918 – March 16, 2016
With deep sorrow, the HERNANDEZ family announces the passing of their beloved ,mother, Apolonia (AKA “Inang” or Lola Onyang”} on March 16, 2016 at the age of 98 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mauro in the year 1980, her sister Esther and borthers, Jesus and Filomeno.
At an early age of 13 years, Apolonia’s mother (Cirilia} passed away and with kindred spirit and dedicated love of family, she responsibly took care of her borthers and sister. She is survived by her 6 son’s and two daughters namely, Jose(Rebecca), Jaime(Conchita), Benjamin(Alice), Rosario(Freddie-deceased), Enrique(Lenie), Alejandro(Liwayway-deceased), Virgilio(Angelica), Ma. Luisa(Sal) and 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Apolonia’s true gift was simple spirit, dedication to family and friends, and her passion for cooking and caring for grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her family, relatives, and friends for her generosity, kindness, devotion and humility. REST in PEACE “Inang Oniang”, we all love you and you will always be in our hearts and prayers.
Families and friends are invited to visitations on March 29 and 30, 2016 at 4Pm to 8Pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Homes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, CA
FUNERAL Liturgical mass/services at 10AM at the same chapel. INTERMENTwill follow at the nearby cemetery at St. Mary’s cemetery, Howe St., Oakland. CA
