Antoinette Marie Howard's Obituary
Antionette Marie Howard (aka Angie) was born on January 2, 1964, in Oakland, California to the late Susan Short. In 1974, Antionette and her mother Susan were united with James Smith.
Antionette accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church (Oakland, California) for a number of years. Antionette attended Oakland Public Schools. Antionette was loving and fun. She was the life of the party, she was very outspoken, and she wouldn’t sugar cold anything regardless if you wanted to hear it or not. She loved shopping and talking on the phone with her friends for hours. She was a go-getter anything she wanted she wouldn’t hesitate to get. She knew she had to work to get ahead in life. She always held a job, she worked at Oakland Unified School District in food service then later took a higher postion as the schools Health Nurse. She later retired from Oakland Unified School District due to her health. She was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis a lung/ inflammatory disease. She had no problem educating others on her health issuses and made sure they had a better understanding of how serious her health was affecting her journey.
In the 1980’s Antionette met Thomas J. Miles and through this union Tomesha Marie Miles was born and together they raised there daughter. Antionette loved her daughter Tomesha so much.She was so happy to be a mother to her one and only child. she would take her shopping every time she got paid.They always traveled to many places in different cities and enjoyed it. She loved cooking different dishes and many meals.
Antionette loved her three grand children: T’yani, Tyrone, Dadesi. Antionette adored them, she loved spending quality time with them as well as caring for them. Antionette’s journey on earth ended on November 3, 2019, in the presence of those she loved.
While entering Heaven’s gates into the welcoming arms of those that preceded her in death were: Susie Whitfield (great-grandmother); Bertha Mae Woods (grandmother); Beloved Susan Estalita Short-smith (mother); Bridgette Woods(auntie);Ralph Short(uncle).Darrell Woods and Kenai Smith (cousins).
Antionette leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter Tomesha Miles-Turk, sister:Felicia Smith (Pedro), brother:Julius Smith, Step-father:James Smith, grand father:Henry Short(Joyce), (3) Grand children: T’yani Turk, Tyrone Turk Jr,Dadesi Brown ll (5) aunties: Dottie Ross,Charlene Young,Judy Whitehead, Rosalind Woods,Lynetta Jackson,(3) uncles:Minister Anthony Woods,Wardell Woods, Caesar Short(Chelsea).(12)neices and nephews:Tarkneeka(jerimiyah, jesus), Juneequa(Jah’kai) Shaquill, Ratieka, Ju’lanni, Julius, Julian, Julalyah, ju’nayah,Her special Friend Adriell Williams who she was crazy about. And a host cousins and friends to whom she will be dearly missed.
