Annette Low Dillon's Obituary
Annette Low Dillon, 65, was born December 27, 1956, in San Francisco, California to her parents Donald and Betty Low. Honoring her wishes to be at home, Annette made a peaceful transition on the afternoon of November 22, 2022, in the presence of her family.
Annette was married to Hugh L. Dillon Jr. on July 20, 1980. To this union daughter Cassandra was born August 20, 1985. Annette also gained from this union daughters Michelle (deceased), Renee, sons Eric, Karl, and Kenneth. She was beloved as a mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. The family called her the baby whisperer. She had a special way with small children. They were always drawn to her.
Annette grew up in San Francisco, California where she graduated from Balboa High School and completed her education at City College of San Francisco. She attended the Chinese Congregational Church in San Francisco Chinatown starting at a young age. Her work included working as a bank teller for Bank of America for over 30 years. After retirement from the bank, Annette worked part time at the Walmart neighborhood market. She left a good lasting impression on everyone she met. Always kind, always friendly, and always generous.
Annette had a passion for fishing, gardening, and hosting gatherings for family and friends. She held the family tradition of hosting Thanksgiving dinners. The gatherings were always large and lively with good food and lots of laughs. She traveled with her husband to golf tournaments all over the country and could dive right into country life when visiting her husband’s hometown in McComb, Mississippi. Annette was loved and certainly will be missed by her family.
Annette is preceded in death by her father Donald Low, her father-in-law Hugh L. Dillon Sr., her mother-in-law Hattie Mae Dillon, and daughter Michelle Sullivan.
Annette is survived by her husband Hugh L. Dillon Jr., her mother Betty Low, mother-in-law Frances Smith-Dillon, her daughters Cassandra Dillon, Renee Sweets, her sons Eric Dillon, Karl Knapp, Kenneth Knapp, her grandchildren Jessica, Resean, David, Shameica, Rassie, Elijah (Miranda), Erin, Evah, her great grandchildren Maliyah, Karter, Emia, Mariposa, her great-great-granddaughter Lilianna, her brother Andrew Low (Elsie), her sister Joanne Tom (Carroll), her sister-in-law’s Cynthia Allen-Laureano (Frank), Angela Antoine, nieces Cari, Jennifer, Jana, Michelle, Karen, Danyel, nephews Shannon, Kevin, and her extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, December 12, 2022, at Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611.
