Amy Nicole Von Nordheim's Obituary
Amy Nicole Von Nordheim left this world on August 14, 2006. She was a delightful daughter, a loving granddaughter, a cherished sister, a committed friend, and an excellent aunt. She was always there when anyone needed her; her warmth took the chill out of many of the unfair moments that life brings. Amy grew up in California'sAntelopeValley and went to elementary, middle, and high school there. She loved beautiful words and pretty places; when it was time for college, she went toSanFranciscoState and got a B.A. in Creative Writing. After college, Amy spiritually nourished students with her passion for the written word in theAntelopeValley , Denver, Colorado, andIrvine, California . Later, she took advanced courses in Library Science atSan JoseState and became the librarian atBishopO'DowdHigh School inOakland, California . While at O'Dowd, Amy helped hundreds find the books to fit their particular place in life and taught thousands to sift through sources to find the exact cite to support their thesis. Depression cast a shadow over Amy's life. At last, not even the brightness of her soul could break through those clouds.Amy walked in faith. She was a member of theRegenerationChurch and attended services atEastHillsCommunityChurch , both in Oakland . There was nothing more important to her than her God and her church; the Red-letter day of her life was when she accepted Jesus as her personal savior. There is no doubt that the Lord welcomed Amy with open arms. Those of us left here will always miss her. We will feel her absence whenever we walk through natural splendor, whenever we read a writer who has gotten the words just right.Visitation is at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland on August 25th between 4 and 8 p.m . The memorial service will be held at the Regeneration Church, 238 E. 15th Street, Oakland, on August 26th between 2and 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in Amy's name to the Ddepression and Bipolar Support Alliance, www.dbsalliance.org, 730 N.
