Amanda Leeds' Obituary
Amanda Louise Leeds, January 18, 1942- March 25, 2016
Amanda passed away peacefully at home after a long struggle with cancer. She was born in Norwich, England on January 18, 1942. She met and married her husband Stephen when he was stationed at RAF Lakenheath. In 1970 they came home to Livermore where Stephen was born and raised.
Her parents, Samuel and Florence Barnfield, and her brother Christopher and daughter Amanda preceded Amanda in death. Her husband of 45 years Stephen, brother David of Hull, England and children, Karlheinz Rebing of Katy, Texas, and daughter Deborah Leeds-Piotrowski, son-in-law Victor Piotrowski and granddaughter Victoria Leeds-Piotrowski of Livermore survive her. Her family in England included five granddaughters, Maria, Clare, Natasha, Lisa and Louisa, along with 14 greatgrandchildren, and aunt and a number of cousins.
Amanda enjoyed working each summer at the Alameda County Fair serving as a docent in the Young California Building, working with the local 4-H Groups and their exhibits. She belonged to various social groups including Daughters of the British Empire where she made many long lasting friendships.
Friends and family are invited to attend Memorial Services that will be held on Friday, April 8th, 2016 at 10am, at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to the Valley Humane Society in Pleasanton.
