Alicia Antionette Meador-Ehujor's Obituary
Alicia Antionette Meador-Ehujor was born on September 3, 1970, to Bennie Jean and John Allen Meador in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the youngest of their two children. Surrounded by family, Alicia transitioned June 16, 2024. Her grandparents on both sides, and her dad, John Allen Meador, preceded her in death.
Alicia’s formal education was in the Oakland Unified School District. Alicia graduated from Madison Middle School and Skyline High School in 1988. Alicia majored in early childhood education where she took courses from Laney and Merritt Colleges. She worked as a substitute childcare teacher for Oakland and Hayward School Districts. She was a faithful and dedicated substitute teacher.
Alicia was a good faithful member of Elmhurtst United Methodist Church. She was very supportive to her church. She served as a Lay Leader on some Sundays and worked on many committees.
Alicia could be on the quiet side, but her radiating smile made her a big presence! She was peaceful and pleasant to be around. From her youth and throughout her adult life, Alicia was known as a sweet, humble, and caring person.
Alicia leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Ashley Obbawya; granddaughter, Alani Brown; grandson, Hasani Taylor; her devoted mother, Bennie Jean Meador; brother Brian Chirstopher Meador, Sr., sister-in-law, Detra Meador; aunts, Violet Reagor, Alice Roberts, Alice Faye Raibon, Doris Brown, Sylvia Anderson; uncle, Donald Meador, all in Arizona; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
