Alfred W. Stoneman Jr.

Al's parents were both born in England and his mother Lena was my 1st Cousin & she was born & raised in Penrith, Cumberland (now Cumbria)where I live.I started corresponding with Al in 1996 and first met him in California in 1999.Since then we met regularly whenever I was in California. He was a great raconteur and his stories about fishing and other exploits are legendary. He also took an keen interest in others and was helpful to his friends and neighbours. I last saw Al on Saturday 23 June 2012 and he looked really well. He attended a party in Carmichael and among other things enjoyed watching a film I had made of him telling stories back in 2007. It was the first time he had seen it and he just loved it. Rest in Peace, Big Al.
