Marla Knight
To Al's Family… I am sorry that I just found out about his passing. I can't believe that he has been gone over 3 year's now. He was a wonderful wonderful person that I had the pleasure of knowing. He was very good friends of my grandparents, George & Virginia Catambay. He did a wonderful picture of my grandfather in front of his shop. I remember how touched I was when I saw it for the first time. He captured my grandfather and his shop perfectly. He didn't put a face on my grandfather because he said he didn't think he did those well. Face or not it was perfect to me. It was the first time that I had visited him with my grandmother. I enjoyed looking at his other art work, photos and his memorabilia from the service. My husband is a collector of old war memorabilia so they had a good conversation about his time served. I can't say enough about Al. He was kind, caring, very giving of his time and of himself, very thoughtful, and all around a good man. The world is a little less bright with out him in it. His spirit lives on and he is surely missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing him. THough this is years late, my sincere condolences to the family.
