Alexander Alvarado's Obituary
Alexander Alvarado was born on February 27,1970 to Eliazar and Eva Alvarado in Oakland, CA. He attended St. Anthony’s elementary school from Kindergarten to Eighth grade and then went on to graduate from St. Joseph’s Notre-Dame High School in 1988. He played various sports in his youth and was raised in a very loving and harmonious home.
Alex, or Rojo as he was known, touched the hearts of all who came in contact with him. He had a way to make everyone feel welcome and heard. He loved to be around his family and friends and he especially loved to BBQ for them! He’d start his cook-outs early in the morning and would continue well into the night. Those BBQs brought us all together and those are memories we will cherish forever. If he wasn’t being King of the BBQ, he was with his family. Cheering at Daniel’s baseball games, watching Audrey dance, or being impressed by Kayte & Meg’s artistic expressions. He also had an eclectic love of movies and music. He had many memories of going to the movies with his dad in the City while they waited for his mom to get off work. He would randomly quote movies or TV shows on a whim and assume everyone would know what he was talking about - 7.5 times out of 10, they didn’t. But that was his way of being silly with people. He enjoyed a plethora of different types of shows and movies such as Sci-Fi, supernatural, history, and animal documentaries. Star Wars, Animal House, How I Met Your Mother, Friends and anything funny were amongst his favorites. His laughter was contagious!
He loved sports. Something he inherited from his father. He was a Bay Area fan and a die-hard Raider fan. But he could watch any game, anywhere - even golf! Just give him some food, good company, and a big screen and the yelling would ensue!
Professionally speaking, Alex worked in the food industry since his teen years. He also did Construction for different companies until he decided to go to culinary school and become a chef. His most recent employment was with a catering company that worked at the Chase Center and Oracle Arena, feeding the executives and staff members.
On Sunday, October 8, 2023, Alexander was greeted and welcomed into rest by his loved ones who preceded him in death. He leaves behind his son, Daniel and 3 daughters: Kaytelynn, Megan, and Audrey, plus 1 grandson, Liam; and many loved ones.
We miss you dearly, but we know this is not good-bye, it is “Later, Gator”.
