Uncle Al, his wife Auntie Sue and their children Debbie and Rod lived not far from our family in their Piedmont home and visits were easy. Uncle Al was always smiling, good natured and generous with little things that told you he was thinking of you. It was fun to see the back and forth between him and wise cracking Auntie Sue. This picture of the two captures a bit of them as we headed to a wedding event at the Claremont in the 1970s.
It was after my father Stanley Chinn passed away in December 2019 that pictures of Uncle Al during WWII appeared. They were friends for over 70 years.
With warm memories of Uncle Al, I searched the Chapel website to see if he had passed. Although he’s been gone for several months, I hope there will be a memorial and celebration of his life. He brought joy to life. Condolences to all his family and friends.
