Ada Maree's Obituary
Ada “Jan” Maree was the oldest of her siblings, a role she embraced fully. As the big sister, she was naturally in charge — often bossy, always protective. She was fiercely loyal to her family and deeply protective of her brother and sisters, never hesitating to stand up for them or defend those she loved. Her devotion to family was unwavering, a value instilled in her by her parents, especially her mother, whom she loved deeply.
She was outgoing, warm-hearted, and loved to tease and laugh. Jan had a generous spirit and shared freely with others — her time, her help, and whatever she had — with one exception: her chicken drumsticks, which she proudly claimed first. Growing up, she enjoyed playing games, jump rope, basketball, and dolls with her sisters, often taking on the role of “mama,” a role that carried into her own life as a mother.
Jan was the proud mother of two sons and one daughter. Her love for her children was deep and constant, and family always came first for her. She later experienced the profound loss of one son and her daughter, losses she carried with strength and grace.
After graduating high school, Jan bravely moved to California to continue her education and build her life. Later, when her father became ill, she made the selfless decision to return home, leaving her job to help care for him and support her mother — a true reflection of her devotion to family.
Jan was loving, caring, and fiercely loyal. She never allowed anyone to speak negatively about her family and was always there to listen, offer advice, or simply be present. She is survived by one son, her brother, and many loving family members and friends.
She will be remembered as a woman who loved deeply, protected fiercely, and was always there for those she cared about.
