Ada May Ambrose's Obituary
Ada Ambrose
1916 – 2013
Born in Grass Valley, CA, Resident of San Ramon
Ada drew her last breath and passed into Eternity – into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 17, 2003, in Kaiser Hospital, Walnut Creek, CA, surrounded by her family.
Ada lived just a few weeks shy of her 97th birthday! God had graced her with many years beyond a normal lifespan. And although the last couple of years brought many unexpected difficulties – she faced them with a special gifting of grace, strength, and enablement from God.
It is a very rare thing for an individual to leave such a lasting and powerful legacy with such a great impact upon so many, so often – so beautifully demonstrating a wonderful example of God’s beauty, love, and care, with God’s holy fragrance resting upon her all the days of her life. All her family and friends, were fortunate to have been the recipients of the touch of God through His servant Ada, as heaven was moved by her prayers in their behalf, both here and across the miles.
Ada loved to travel and she particularly enjoyed the many cross-country motor home trips she took throughout America with her family – from Washington DC to New York; from Florida to Louisiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma and all the States in between – visiting her extended family along the way.
She also traveled 12 times by cruise ship – hitting nearly 25 countries on several continents, including trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific voyages, sailing through the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas, as well the Eastern and Western Seaboards, Alaska, Mexico, and through the Panama Canal twice.
Her husband, Ralph, predeceased her in 1995 and she is survived by her daughters, Doreen Ingwaldson and Elaine Strand, and their 4 children, and 8 grandchildren. Ada will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her. But while we mourn Ada’s passing, and will always feel an emptiness in our hearts because of her Home-going – at the same time, we rejoice in the amazing and wonderful life she shared with us all and will look forward to the time when we will join her and all the family who has gone on before, at that great and grand reunion in Heaven, worshiping at the Throne of God.
Viewing and Interment will be at a private family gathering. A Memorial Service will be held at Harvest Valley Church, 3200 Hopyard Road, Pleasanton, CA on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 3 PM.
