Thomas and David,Your mother came to see me numerous times in physical therapy. It was an annual visit and I always recognized her name on my schedule. She was so strong despite her many pains but always had hope and motivation to get better.She always talked about you two. Both of you seem to be in professional sports.She was the lady that always gave us tickets to go to the Elephant Sale. She was so generous that she wanted us to have a list of the people from our physical therapy department. She was a very special person to Kaiser Hospital from worker to volunteer to patient. To Tom, David and families,It was with sadness I learned last evening of your mother's passing. Word came from Herb Abrams via Helen.I have so many fond memories of your mother – tops of which is how she could hit the hell out of a pitched softball. Also vivid memories of a trip to Biggs to pick up your grandmother for her annual summer stay in the Bay Area. This trip must have been in the late 1950's and was in the old Packard. Another memory that comes to mind is when your mom was in a political discussion in the Harvey's backyard – I believe my parents were there – anyway, your mom came into the kitchen to refresh a drink and stated that she was eager and savoring to get back into the fray representing her democratic party views despite being outnumbered by Republicans. Something that probably could not happen this day and age.Your mother was a remarkably positive person well into senior years. She worked hard and persevered under difficult circumstances. She enjoyed a good life well lived. It was a joy and privilege to have known her. May she rest in peace.from Robert Nordhausen
