Judy Hom SooHoo
June 23, 1928 - March 20, 2022
Judy Hom was born in Taishan (台山）, Guangdong Province （廣東省）, China and immigrated to America where she met and fell in love with her husband Peter SooHoo in 1950 and raised 6 sons. Judy and Peter owned and operated Pete’s Market, a grocery store in Oakland for 30 years. In their retirement they enjoyed travels to their homeland China, watching Kung fu movies and spending time with friends and relatives. Judy was passionate about family and cooked delicious meals for them. Peter and Judy shared 61 years of love and caring for one another. Judy is survived by their sons Steven, Edward, Jack, Terry, Timothy, and William and their wives, 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Judy passed peacefully in her sleep and is missed dearly by her family as her legacy will always be remembered. The celebration of Judy’s life will be on Thursday, April 7th at the Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland at 10:00 am.
