Al was one of the true geniuses in our 1965 engineering physics class at Cornell University. One semester he decided to study especially diligently to see if he could hit the stratosphere of a grade point average in the 90’s (maximum 100). To put things in perspective, earning a four-year average of 85 got you graduated with highest honors. He succeeded, getting something like a 93 that semester. He was my best friend in EP and I was shocked to read of his passing. Rest in peace, Al.
